Do these lures actually catch fish?
Yes. These designs have been poured, fished, refined and proven in real conditions. They aren't prototypes or novelties, they're the same baits we keep tied on and fish ourselves.
If a lure doesn't earn it's place in the box, it doesn't stay.
Freshwater or saltwater?
Both.
The kit is designed to perform in freshwater and saltwater environments. Like any soft plastic, how you rig and fish it matters and that's part of the craft.
What do I need to get started?
The SBB Lure Lab comes as a complete kit. No extra equipment, no heat, no fumes. Open the box and start making your lures.
How many baits can you make with the SBB Lure Lab?
The SBB Lure Lab includes a custom 3” paddle tail mold with 2 cavities. Each bait requires approximately 10 grams of mixed silicone to fill, meaning a full mold pour creates 2 baits using about 20 grams total.
Depending on mixing efficiency and how much material is left behind in the cup after pouring, most users can expect to make approximately 50 finished baits per kit. With careful mixing and minimal waste, you may be able to make even more.
should i throw out the mixing cups and stick after one use?
No -your mixing cups and stir stick are reusable.
Once the silicone fully cures, it will peel or pull cleanly out of the mixing cup, allowing you to reuse the cup for future pours. The wooden stir stick can also be wiped down after mixing and reused multiple times.
A little leftover cured silicone is completely normal and makes cleanup quick and easy.

Because our products include consumable materials and DIY components, we generally do not accept returns once a kit has been opened or used. That said, if there’s an issue, reach out—we’ll handle it fairly.
